Commodore Amiga 1200 Tower Project
This is my
Amiga 1200 Tower Project
The project so far:
Micronik Infinitiv A1200 Tower Case (with PC AT PSU and PC keyboard adapter)
A1200 Motherboard
Blizzard 1230 MK IV with 32 MB RAM
Kickstart 3.1 roms
Buffered IDE Interface eyetech MK4
3.5" Harddrive
CD-Rom Drive
PCMCIA 90º angle adapter
Gayle Chip adapter
CD-Rom audio to RCA (Phono) output

My old board,
had problems with the video signal,so i changed it, it was a Rev 1D1 (right) and
i change for a 1D4 (left)
notice that on Rev 1D1 the clock port (near chanel Z) has all the pins, and the
1D4 only have 22 pins

Bellow is my
IDE controller that i order in ebay. I connected a cable from the controller
to the Mboard and from the controller i could connect a 3.5" HD and a Cd-rom

The HD can be inserted from the back part of the case.

Converter from IDE 2.5" to IDE 3.5", works fine..

I changed the Roms from 3.0 to 3.1
\x

I had to fix
the floppy button, it didnt fit in the front plastic case, so i had to modify it
a bit,,
so it could fit into the plastic hole. The floppy mecanism and the hole for the
eject button were
not one in front of another, so i had to modify it a litle:
Now, the
PCMCIA 90º angle adapter, otherwise i could not use it, there was no room for
it.

My last work, a cable to connect the CD-COM to RCA output:
I bought a par of RCAs, i had some wire...
some soldering work... mu skills with soldering are not the best...:-)

I used an old paralell port to hold the RCAs

Paint it with white spray

Hot glue... to
put them in place,

More paint, not spray this time, i try to fill the spaces that the glue dont
fill

Not the best look, not finish yet, i want to level the ink at the surface.

The tower had a reset cable but was not connected, so i did some soldering work,
the result was quite nice.

Finally i got a expansion card:
Blizzard 1230 MK IV Phase 5 with 32 MB RAM

I now added a Gayle Chip, this small circuit that allows the tower to reset. I
allready had a cable reset, but
the adapter was cheap...so....i...:-))
